We Are All in This Together

We are All, 

Every One of Us, 

Trapped

in an Abusive Relationship 

with a white supremicist, capitolist, patriarchial culture.

When this settles in, trickles down deep

when you can really feel this,

what is your response? 

I’ll go first: 

I sob. I rage. I wail.

I lie down and don’t want to get up. 

I sit down under the ash tree at sunrise asking the universe and all benevolent beings for help, for guidance, for support. I lean my back against this tree, feeling her strength. I thank her for being here for me. I listen. Sometimes I weep. 

Sometimes I’m so stuck in my own spinning head that I can hardly be here. It is so hard to be with this reality and the powerlessness and pain of us all. 

I seek community to feel this truth with me, who grieves and rages with me. A community who embraces and holds each other up like my ash tree holds me up, roots growing deep together. Who’s with me?
